Admiral Leslie Reigart sat at his desk staring at the floor waiting for news of Lieutenant Chris Burnett. He looked up at the clock hanging on the wall with contempt. Ticking precious seconds away. Finally O'Malley came through the door of Reigart's office.
"He's just contacted."
Chris stopped abruptly in their run and Truth looked at him confused.
"I've gotta talk to Admiral Reigart," Chris informed her while taking out his radio (a/n: walkie talkie thinger)
"Alpha Whiskey this is Arch Angel 06 do you copy?," Chris said into the device.
After a moment Chris heard the voice of Admiral Reigart through the speaker, "I hear you 06, what is you current status?"
"I am headed to safe zone and plus one person, over."
"Excuse Me? Did I just hear you say plus one?"
"Yes, sir, I found some one on my way to the safe zone and I am taking them with me, over."
"What kind of 'someone'?"
"A young girl, sir, she is no threat, over."
"Alright son, make your way to the safe zone and maintain radio silence unless it is completely necessary, over."
"Copy that, sir."
Chris put the radio away and looked at Truth. She was breathing heavy and looked quite tired, he guessed that she hadn't rested in a while. He wondered if she would be able to make it to the safe zone, they had no time to stop and rest. Suddenly he heard the echo of a of a rock striking another from somewhere to his right. I quickly grabbed truth and pulled her to the ground with him behind a couple of bushes. He peered out from between them and saw the tracker who had been following him and a soldier with him.
"Shit."
He looked down at Truth to see her shutting her eyes tight.
I guess we'll have to make time for a rest
For half an hour they sat on the ground in complete silence niether person daring to move an inch. Chris had been thinking up a new route to the safe zone in his mind so they would not come up behind the tracker on their way there.
"Truth, we need to start going again."
She let out a long breath as if she had been holding it for the entire time they had sat. She looked up to Chris and nodded her head before standing up and brushing leaves away from her pants.
"Look I know that it's hard to keep up but you've got to run as fast as you can, okay? I'm gonna hold your hand again so I won't lose you," Chris said to her gently.
"Ookay."
They started running again and Truth tried extra hard to run fast hating to feel like a burdon.
**Yes, this was a really short chapter and you're probably getting upset with me by now but I'm going to warn you. The next chapter things are going to happen fast. I don't want to spend ten chapters with Truth and Chris running to the safe zone. It's going to start with them already at the zone. It'll be good don't worry…**
